Back and forth at night? Losing your
sanity as you continue to get up tired? Then you may be suffering from
insomnia. Psychiatrist or therapist may recommend a pill you can take, but
instead of subjecting your body to more drugs, maybe you can go the natural way
and stay away from whatever it is causing you sleepless nights.
Insomnia can get in the way of work: Not
only will you feel more tired, but you're more susceptible to infection. Stay
healthy and get more sleep by taking note of these tips.
- Sleep at the same time every night.
Your body has a natural rhythm that will try to follow, and you can fall asleep
more easily if you go to sleep at the same time and set the rhythm for your
body to rest. Avoid sleeping late and then sleep the next morning, avoid
sleeping too early, and then wake up at dawn. Your body needs some normal, and
so are you!
Irregular when you sleep by forcing
yourself to go to bed at the same time every night, and then setting your alarm
to wake you up at a certain hour. Follow this routine faithfully, and you soon
may have a better nights sleep.
- Avoid alcohol! You might think that a
glass before bedtime can help sleep, but it will do the opposite. It will make
you addicted, and you may find yourself losing sleep if you suddenly can not
get a chance to have a bit of alcohol.
- Avoid stimulants such as tea, sugar,
coffee, and. You can pick up coffee for breakfast, afternoon tea, and sugar or
chocolate at any time throughout the day, when you need an injection of energy.
But at night, the stars come out and all the dark sky, your body wants to rest.
Do not force it to work! To sleep, drink a glass of warm milk an hour or so
before bedtime.
- Avoid strenuous exercise in the evening.
Exercise before bed will stimulate your brain and body, and you'll be too
excited to sleep. If you have to exercise, perform the late afternoon, or if
you want to exercise in bed, doing a slow, low-impact exercise that allows you
to relax and concentrate on your breathing.
- Avoid long naps during the day.
Half-hour nap at most, but reserve the rest of your bed for the night.
- Avoid doing something interesting, do
something that is boring, and soon, you will fall asleep.
