For some people it seems so easy to just let go of something, do not care whether things fall apart and become dirty. But is it really a good way of life to have things scattered and chaotic? At a certain point can be exhausting to live like a slob. If you claim to be dirty and want to start an organized life, the time to do it now. Here are some pointers on how to stop being a slob:
1. Find out what is being held, how it
looks and feels. Many people become reckless because they do not want to, but
because they do not really know how organized feels like or even how it looks.
Visit the model homes, see the interior design books and magazines, and check
out places that are known organized and clean. Model of your own home and
lifestyle after these examples. You may need to raise your standards to achieve
organizational and stop being a slob.
2. Clean your house, NOW! It is time you
get rid of all the clutter that has accumulated in your home because of the
Civil War. Be cruel to your stuff, and get rid of everything that you will not
use this year, just keep the REAL family heirloom. Many people have become
careless because they are having trouble letting go of their garbage. If you
have not used something for five years, chances are you'll never use it again.
3. Make a habit of putting things back in
the right place. Every time you use something, resist the urge to just lie down
somewhere. Chances are it will stay wherever you leave it and may stay there
forever. Always put things back where they belong. Your dining table should
only have the center on top (and food during meal times), rather than books,
bags, pens, and the kitchen sink.
4. Clean before organizing. Many people
mistakenly organize their things before cleaning them. It is not effective. Why
you should set things you do not have shared with you actually need. Throw away
things you do not need so you'll have room to get organized.
Not because it is difficult to stop being
a slob by the internalization of the organized habits. Pretty soon you will see
a big difference.
